Hi there!
My name is Quela (pronounced “Kella”), and I create graphics and illustrations for the University of Florida’s Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing. In this role, I collaborate with other designers, copywriters, communicators, and marketing specialists to visually elevate the university’s brand.
Originally from the Delaware coast, I moved to Orlando, Florida, to attend the University of Central Florida, where I earned bachelor’s degrees in Emerging Media (Graphic Design) (B.F.A.) and Legal Studies (B.A.). While at UCF, I worked as a graphic designer for the UCF College of Graduate Studies, developing a wide range of print and digital materials for both the college and the Office of Research.
In 2022, I relocated to Gainesville, Florida, to join the University of Florida team while pursuing my Master of Arts in Mass Communication (M.A.M.C.). My research focused on developing strategic marketing campaigns that target positive reputation building.
As a designer, I enjoy developing exciting brand elements and unique campaign materials — my favorite projects are ones with just-enough challenges, where I can explore innovative solutions. In my free time, you can find me sampling coffees around town, streaming crime dramas, or tending to my ever-growing houseplant collection.
Please feel free to contact me with any inquiries or opportunities.
